List of Villains (Event Villains)

Paddy O Malice ( Appears in Blarney 1-8 during St. Patrick's Day )

Cards : Liquify , Frost Breath , Super Strength , Thunderstorm , Lucky Shot
Health : 15
Method : Bring Incinerate ( Heat Vision will do too but due to the fact that Incinerate does 2 damage if the opponent plays a muscle card and it does 2 damage , it is stronger than Heat Vision ) Overheat , Frozen Mirror , Regeneration and a lightning card , either Shocking Fist , Megawatt Pulse or Thunderstorm. Always try to play Regeneration to keep your health at full , and if he uses Frost Breath , use Overheat and then Incinerate on your next turn . (Somehow , after fighting him many times , i can somehow predict the card he is going to play next)
Alternative Method : Replace Overheat with Frost Breath and play it ( If opponent uses Frost Breath , just use Incinerate) occasionally , forcing him to play Liquify . Use Frozen Mirror and it will reflect Liquify back at him. (Note : If he used Liquify on the turn you used Frost Breath , means he cannot play any other cards as he has no fire cards left. He will then stared slack jawwed which means that he will not play any card and use this to your advantage)
Rewards : Any superhero Emerald piece , Villain portrait of him , Henchmen , Gems , Super Logo-Shamrock , Achievement : Got Lucky Charms for defeating him the first time.

Bunny Barko (Appear in worlds during Easter Week)

Method: Use frost breath to freeze him. He won't block it ever. Have a card that can deal damage while he is frozen. Have a card that can deal at least 2 damage when he pops his egg shield (if this is a lightning card, use it when he is frozen so he doesn't crush it). Use regeneration to regenerate health when he is frozen, because he will occasionally hit you.

The Complete Guide to Growtopia For Beginners

Disclaimer:In this guide we will be providing recommendations for the newer players of Growtopia (or GT for short). We are aware that some of the other posts may also have guides but we will try to combine all the guides into one whole post. So please take some time to read through.
Arrival in Growtopia
Congrats! You have created your own GT character! You will spawn at the world START to learn about the World of GT. So what should you do next?
What to do now?
Beginners are recommended to enter a new world (just type a name on the world search box)
You will find yourself (hopefully) in an uninhabitated world. Start Punching dirt and cave background. You will get dirt, dirt seeds, cave background, cave background seeds and even a few Gems. Keep everything you get and continue to break blocks until your Gems count reaches 50. (The counter can be seen at the top right corner, represented by a red gem and a few numbers beside it) Then, click on the red gem to open up the item shop. You should use the 50 Gems that you earned to buy a Small Lock.
(If you have not done so yet, become a supporter of GT! This involves earning 1000 gems through Tap joy offers, which can be tedious, but you get the recycler tool which enables you to exchange unwanted items such as dirt for a few gems! In addition, you get newer skin colours, namely Red, Green, Cyan, Purple and White)
Or if you prefer, you could break a bit more blocks until you saved up around 200 gems. You can use them to buy a Big Lock.
Small Lock-Locks 10 Spaces
Big Lock-Locks 50 Spaces
Huge Lock-Locks 200 Spaces
World Locks lock the entire world! It costs a whooping 2000 gems to buy, so be sure to save those gems!
If you get a small lock or a big lock, choose a world name you really like. Again, make sure its uninhabitated, then place your lock above the white door (this is where visitors enter your world)
And surround the place with dirt. Then, click once on your fist. It should now be changed to a wrench. Use the wrench on your lock by clicking on it, and then press the ‘ignore empty air’ button and the button which says ‘Re-adjust lock’. This world is now yours, and you should have a decent amount of dirt and cave background seeds. You can obtain rocks and rock seeds by breaking rocks, and you can find lava seeds if you dig deep enough.(Be careful not to touch the lava, as 6 repeated touches will kill you) Build up a decent supply of all 4 types of seeds, and you are ready to start planting and splicing.
Whats Next?
Splicing is simply an act of combining two seeds. For example, when you click a seed in your inventory, there should be white squares on the screen to show where you can plant the seeds. Plant a seed, then select another seed and plant it on the EXACT same spot. You will then create your first spliced tree. Here are some basic examples of splicing seeds:
dirt + cave background = door
dirt+ door = grass
lava + dirt = wood
At this point you may be wondering, since dirt and door makes grass, and dirt and cave background makes door, why not plant a dirt seed, then splice it with a cave background seed AND then another dirt seed? Well, unfortunately, when you try something like that you will see a message:”It would be dangerous to try to mix 3 seeds”=you can’t do it. Also, the higher the rarity of an object (e.g. dirt rarity 1) the harder it is for it to drop seeds, and the quantity you get from harvesting the tree is lesser. However, the rarer the item, the more gems it drops when it is destroyed. You should try to splice as many trees as possible, since harvesting a tree drops gems.
[Recommended] Continue breaking blocks (aka farming) until you reached 2000 gems, where it is preferable to get a world lock (WL) and lock your entire world. This means other people who have no access to the world cannot break your creations. After all, you would not want your hard work to be destroyed by someone else, would you?
[Recommended] Farm until you reach another 2000 gems. Buy another WL and go get yourself some sugarcane seeds (roughly around 30 seeds per WL) Sugarcane is not available in the store (unless you buy the rare seed pack, but we will be skipping that) so you have to go buy from other people. This is where the trade system comes in handy.
Trading
Trading is a risky affair. You may be trading with a person who likes to rip off others or a person who likes to scam, so be aware. Check the market world for different prices on different items so you know how not to incur a loss. Use the trade system when trading.(This is done by using the wrench on the tiny wrench symbol besides that persons name) If the trader asks you to DROP your WL and he will drop his sugarcane, one word: DON’T. If you are trading in your world, you risk him taking your dropped WL. If you are in his world (that is to say, he is the owner), you risk being BANNED from the world the moment you drop your WL. Either way, it is bye-bye 2000 gems if you drop that WL.
Extremely Important: Scammers
Growtopia is a real-life MMO, so you are interacting with hundreds of different players around the globe. Most of them are honest, trustworthy, kind, and possess a bunch of other charming personalities. This is a fun bunch to make friends and chat with. However, there is a dark side too. In GT there are people out to steal you stuff if not protected properly, and this people will stop at nothing to take all your valued items.Beware offers that seem too good to be true, especially when the owner is not someone you know. At the risk of sounding clinch, DO NOT PARTICIPATE OR RUN ANY DROP GAMES. We understand some players would like to 'get-rich-quick', but running a drop game has been and ALWAYS will be illegal. Unless you want to get yourself a ticket to the world HELL for a 2-day(or more) 'vacation', STAY AWAY from drop games. The moderators are always on the alert trying to wipe out drop games, so if you run one, you are wasting their efforts to make GT a better place. Even worse, if you are a participator, you may lose your items, which is bad, or get banned accidentally, which is worse.

Optional: Making Friends
It is rather lonely to play GT all by yourself. In order to have fun even while doing tedious things such as farming, go make some friends!
For example, when you meet another guy who has similar interests as yours, why not become friends? Simply use the wrench on the person, but instead of choosing 'Trade', choose 'Invite as friend' If he accepts it, you will become friends!
[Remember to stand near to him/her when inviting him/her as a friend, or invitation will not be sent]

Newbie Guides (Written By @Seil)

Splicing

This is the "crafting" of Growtopia. To create new types of blocks, you must splice two types of seeds together to make a new tree. To do so, you simply plant one seed then use another seed on the growing sapling.

If the two seeds can be spliced together, the tree will change types and you will be informed of the success. Otherwise, you will be told the two types cannot be spliced and the secondary seed will be returned unused.

Items and seeds may be categorized into "tiers". The tier an item is in depends on the seeds required to create it. Bricks are a tier 3 item because they require Grass, a tier 2 item, in order to be created.

NOTE: For a beginner, getting ahold of the Basic Splicing Kit(200 Gems) from the store could prove useful but isn't necessary. The kit includes a total of 20 seeds: 10 Rock seeds and 10 random rarity 2 seeds. The Rock seeds in particular can prove incredibly useful to a new player, as obtaining the initial stock of these isn't always easy.

Even if you don't buy the kit, I highly recommend trying to farm rock seeds for a bit to improve your stock. They take awhile to break, and the stock may grow slowly, but it's worth it in the end.

Doors

How to use doors is a question asked quite often, so here's a simple how-to:

Doors have four properties:

Target World: This is the destination the door will take you to. Inserting a world name will send someone to the white door of the destination world. A colon followed by an ID will link to another door in the same world that possesses said ID. A world name followed by a colon and ID will link to a specific door in another world.

Display Label: This allows you to customize what is displayed to people that stand over the door. Make sure to use one when you have a destination ID you don't want made public.

ID: This is an identifier to be used by other doors.

"is open to public": This property only appears for doors in locked zones. If it is ticked, anyone can use the door. Otherwise, only users with access granted by the lock can.

Code:
Example: a door in WORLD1 with a destination of WORLD2:A will link to a door with the ID "A" located in WORLD2.

NOTE: Do not use IDs like 'A', 'B', '1', etc. These are extremely insecure and easy to guess and try. Use more descriptive or cryptic IDs that are difficult to guess.

Locks

Locks are, for the most part, self explanatory. They make it so only the user that placed them can manipulate space under their protection unless the owner specifies otherwise.

By default, normal locks protect an area expanding outward from their position. The area under protection can be altered using the "ignore empty air" option. When this is ticked and the re-apply lock button is used, the protected area will shift to affect connected blocks only. This feature can be used to create customized spaces by disconnecting the lock from all surrounding blocks then building a structure connected to it in the shape you desire.

The World Lock, of course, affects an entire world naturally. Other locks can be placed in a locked world to allow the user to grant access to specific areas to people.

Your First Secure World

Okay so now you know some basics. But how do you use them all to quickly get yourself a personal world safe from all of the hooligans that have been punching you around?! Simple!

First get your hands on 50 gems. You could buy some, complete a TapJoy offer or two, or go grab them by playing the game. You could go destroy a lot of dirt and cave backgrounds. Maybe plant some seeds, harvest low trees. Whatever you want. It doesn't take too long to get 50 gems.

Next, buy a small lock. Proceed then to splice a Dirt seed or two with Cave Background seeds to get some doors.

Then decide on a world name and go to it. If it's empty and suitable for you.

This design is fully protected by an ignore-air small lock. There are two doors that link to each other to get in and out. Make sure you tick off public access and add display labels to the doors! The outside door is far enough away from the building to ensure no one can try to examine it to get its ID. The game won't allow someone without lock access to place their own doors outside of the locked structure.

All of this together means that this design should provide you with a perfectly safe world so long as you don't give anyone shady access.

Once you have better locks and materials you can make things even nicer, but this should suffice for starting out. Oh, and you can fill the area beneath the structure back up with dirt or something. It just needs to be removed when you re-apply your lock to get the proper shape.

Harvesting Techniques

By harvesting I really mean the smashing of blocks in search of seeds. Here are a couple designs that can make this go smoother.

Platform

A 2 wide, 1 high platform is the perfect structure for placing and breaking a variety of blocks. Especially things like doors and signs. It's also very useful for blocks that deal damage like lava, death spikes or cacti.

Tunnel

The tunnel method can be done in a number of ways, but I prefer a 2 high tunnel with platforms. This is because you can use the tunnel for any number of blocks and just jump through the floor instead of having to run all the way to the other side of the tunnel or break a block to get in.

You simply run along on the bottom row, holding your finger above you as you run to place a long chain of blocks. Then jump up and break them all in a line. This is incredibly useful for solid blocks.

Other Tips

How can I keep myself from accidentally breaking everything I touch?
You can toggle from the Fist to the Wrench by tapping the selected Fist in the hotbar. The Wrench is used to alter properties of things like signs and doors, so the tool won't cause damage. Although this won't disable the straight punch button, it can help prevent accidental breakage from normal tapping.

How do you get clothes?
Clothes can be grown like other items, the initial selection begins fleshing out in tier 5. One can also buy assorted clothing packs from the shop for gems.

Are there chests?
Yes there are chest. Items do not despawn. So if you have a secure location, you can drop items for storage purposes. Be aware, though, that it's always possible for something to go wrong.

How do I make [insert item here]?!
There are a number of places where you can find recipes. One such place is this wiki page.

You can also go to my own SEEDIARY world or the ITEMS world in-game for more visual representations.

How do I use a door as a block in my wall?
That's actually a House Entrance block which can be made by combining a Dungeon Door seed and a Door seed. Portcullis, made from a Dungeon Door and Death Spikes provides the same function with a different aesthetic. These items, unlike actual doors, cannot link to other doors and worlds. They simply allow players to walk through them.

Like doors, they can be locked by un-ticking the public access option when in a locked zone.

How can I see if someone is online?
Using the /msg function allows you to check the online status of a user as well as send them private messages. Simply using the command "/msg USERNAME" lets you see if they are online. Adding a space followed by a message after the name allows you to send them a PM.
